Private Art Tutoring & Catered Individual Programs
How it Works

  • All experience levels / ages welcome (portfolio prep too!)
  • Using a combination of live webcam instruction, videos, messaging, and other material from the comfort of home.
  • A safe and welcoming learning environment from a working artist with 10+ years of art instruction experience in drawing, painting, sculpture and more...
  • Touch base each week, alternating between a virtual meet-up with instruction one week, and self guided learning the next (material being sent to you for self-study with message check-ins, videos, handouts, feedback).
  • Be educated on and guided through selecting and purchasing your art materials (so you put your money in the right places)

How To Get Started:

  1. Submit a form below for a free consultation (first come first serve).
  2. Meet virtually or by phone and discuss how I can help.
  3. Schedule our first classes and get started! (I recommend the intro package!)

Let's do this!

Tell me more:

Through my 10+ years of teaching and working at an art supply store, etc. I've heard so many people wanting to paint again after years, or getting stuck and needing an accountability buddy, those looking to prepare a portfolio for art school, or looking to just try something new and incorporate more art making into their lives or their families' lives...

Years ago I offered private art lessons in my home studio with a select few students, and I have occasionally worked with students in their homes, I loved working one-on-one and catering programs to the individual, but schedules, small spaces, and travel can all get in the way of what we want to be doing - making art. In 2020 pivoting to running a virtual summer art camp helped me see the benefits of online learning for many of us (between fitting in schedules and motivation to do so etc.). So, in an effort to find a way to help as many of you as possible to add art making into your daily lives, (and after many requests), I'm deciding to offer one on one art tutoring / coaching / lessons again. In this way, students can join from anywhere, in their own space, and learn to build a practice using what inspires and works for them.

Some of you may be shy about getting started (it is like a new language, the more you use i the better you get!) Start by using kinder language with yourself - change "I can't even draw a stick figure" (the most common phrase any artist hears) to "I'm learning to draw" or "I am struggling with this area" / "I could use a little help with X"...

Make weird crafty things! Draw your grocery list instead of writing it, stitch silly sayings into your socks! Art exercises parts of our brain that help in so many others, so t
he best thing you can do is make a LOT of art.  PS for you perfectionists out there - remember for every finished beautiful painting an artist shows, there is likely many sketches, notes, failed attempts, many adjustments, and a lot of practice!

Art making has brought so much joy to my life - I hope it can do the same for you.
